about the art..
"Themes of pattern and movement in nature and my surroundings continue throughout my prints and paintings. Although fundamentally abstract, my soft, muted paintings are expressive and refer to an emotional reality in response to a direct experience. My print works are detailed designs delicately constructed monotones of black & white etched by hand out of marmoleum or linoleum. Combining elements of the 2 methods of printmaking and painting together, rather than keeping them seperate, has opened a new direction for me in pushing print and painting boundaries and expanding my perceived limitations."
and the artist..
Lynn Mack (Schulmeistrat) is of Irish and German parentage and grew up in County Wicklow on the East Coast of Ireland.
A trained artist, Lynn graduated with an honors Degree in Fine Art specialising in Print from the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dun Laoghaire in 1999. After finding a balance between being a full time mum of 3 & an artist, teaching Fine Art to children & students became a natural progression for her.
Her paintings hang in church buildings in Wicklow and in private homes and businesses across Ireland,England,Northern Ireland,Wales,Jerusalem,U.S.A. and Australia. Being commissioned privately to paint canvases laden with gold leaf have been among her favourite pieces to work on. Her artwork has more recently been used as wall murals and for a book illustration. By selling her lino prints on-line, they are posted as gifts from Ireland across the world as far as Australia, America and Europe.
